ICE activity across Broome County — know your rights

A community notice from CRGB: multiple community members were detained by ICE on Monday and Tuesday, targeting mostly Spanish-speaking laborers. Reported locations include the Johnson City Home Depot, Endicott McDonald's, Endicott BOCES, Vestal Walmart, the Johnson City Red Roof Inn, and others; ICE is believed to be staying at a Johnson City hotel. Heavy ICE activity is expected at least all week. For real-time updates, follow @bingicewatch on Instagram or visit CRGBing.org. This week, our weekly protests turn their focus to ICE — the theme is "ICE out!" Join us Friday at 4:30 PM across from Wegmans in Johnson City and Saturday at 11 AM at the Denny's corner on the Vestal Parkway.

What you can do

Keep your loved ones safe — know your rights:

  1. Stay home if you can

Refrain from driving, or ask a U.S. citizen to drive you.

  2. Memorize your A-Number and your lawyer's phone number

Keep them where you can recall them without your phone.

  3. Keep a copy of your immigration documents on you

Carry copies, not originals, if you can.

  4. You have the right to remain silent

Do not say or sign anything until after you speak to a lawyer.

  5. Report ICE activity — call or text 607-752-6339

Or call/text 607-644-0598. Report ICE-related activity when you see it.

  6. Follow @bingicewatch for real-time updates

Take action

One thing this week.

A 5-minute call to a Senator. A postcard you write at lunch. Sustained, small actions are what move elected officials — not perfection.

Our mission

Why we organize.

Indivisible Binghamton is dedicated to peacefully ensuring that the values and rights enshrined in our nation's Constitution are respected and upheld by our elected officials — at every level, from city hall to Congress.

We support representatives when they stand with us in fighting for progressive policies, and we hold them accountable when they don't.
