Weekly Friday Protest — Across from Wegmans

📣 This week — Stop the ICE killings. ICE has murdered two innocent people and taken 22 people from our area within the last 7 days. This week we’re turning our protest toward the ICE murders — come demand they stop. Everyone should be out in the streets. Bring a sign, bring a friend, and spread the word.

We’re on the sidewalk across from Wegmans, by Panera & Dick’s.

Indivisible Binghamton is holding a standing weekly protest on the sidewalk across from Wegmans. We picked this spot because it gets steady traffic — lots of eyeballs on our creative signs, and a real chance to be seen.

Sign ideas to get you started

Bring the wonderful variety of signs you’ve made over the past year. This week the focus is ICE and the raids tearing families apart — but any issue you care about is welcome. If you want a place to start, here are a couple of ideas:

What to bring

• A sign — homemade is best. We’ll have spares if you don’t have one ready.
• Weather gear — we’re out there rain or shine.
• A friend or two — the more of us, the louder the message.

Why we’re showing up

However many people turn out, it’s important to maintain a consistent public presence. This is a chance for anyone so inclined to do something visible in the face of everything that’s going on.

We picked a weekday and a weekend (see our Saturday protest) to cast the widest net for participation. We’ll start with these times and locations and adjust as we go.
